The church of Fuglafjordur
A bright modern church overlooking Fuglafjørður
Fuglafjørður Church is located in the centre of town, next to the cemetery and the central park. Consecrated on 10 June 1984, the church was designed by Danish architect Holger Jensen. It is known for its bright, open Nordic style, with large windows overlooking the town and fjord. The church also has excellent acoustics and a Marcussen & Søn organ with 26 stops. The neighbouring park is traditionally used for an outdoor church service on Whit Monday.
