Old Doctor's House
Step inside the historic doctor's house from 1853 and explore local history
Tvøroyri Town and Maritime Museum is housed in the former doctor's residence, built in 1853 for the first doctor in Suðuroy.
Until 1927, the building served as a home and medical practice for several successive doctors, and for a period it also housed a pharmacy. Later, the building was used for various purposes, including as a police station.
Today, visitors can step back in time and discover how a doctor's home might have been furnished and decorated in the early 1900s. The museum offers a glimpse into everyday life and the history of Tvøroyri.
